With this 'Lily' origami lamp, Tetsuo Takahashi demonstrates how to pull off a [minimalist design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-delta-lamp) while avoiding the depersonalizing aesthetics of austerity. Toned-down, sharp designs can be quite appealing, but taken too far they run the risk of becoming severe and clinical.

The Japanese, Paris-based designer created the lamp almost entirely from [paper, folding each piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shining-a-light) so as to create an [elegant bloom of triangles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloomlight-s-lamp) and rhombuses, alternating between green and white.

If there is one word to describe the overarching aesthetic and feel of the lamp it is "light." For instance, it would make a great addition to a similarly toned-down minimalist room. It's leaf-like color-scheme and shape would also go well with house plants.
