The architects achieved this effect by laying a special film over the glass of the Mirror. This renders the Tetsuo Kondo Architects [Mirror non-reflective](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zigzag-collection) when seen from an angle, so you can only view a clear reflection of yourself if you stand directly in front of it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Angle-sensitive Mirrors:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of angle-sensitive mirrors for home décor that provide customized visual experiences based on the viewing angle. - **Cloudy Image Mirrors:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create mirrors with specialized films that display cloudy images when viewed from angles, offering an artistic and unique visual effect in architectural design. - **Sculptural Mirrors:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design mirrors that blend functionality with sculptural qualities, creating visually appealing and statement pieces for interior design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Décor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate angle-sensitive mirrors into home décor products, generating a new product category that enhances visual experiences and adds aesthetic value to interior design. - **Architectural Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate angle-sensitive mirrors in architectural projects to create unique spatial experiences and visual transitions, adding an innovative touch to building designs. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize sculptural mirrors with cloudy image effects to introduce artistic elements into interior design, evolving traditional mirror placement and functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Structural Mirror Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bton-brut.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Geometrical Golden Ratio Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ascension-wall-mirror.md) - [One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-mirror.md) - [Sculpturally Artistic Copper Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manu-bano-obj08-mirrors.md) - [Curvaceous Shelf-Paired Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-mirror.md) - [Illusory Doorway Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panis-mirror.md) - [Sophisticated Copper Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manu-ba.md) - [Reflective Material Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirroring-dialogue.md)
