# Puzzling Gamer Furniture The Tetris Dresser from Pedro Machado is Contemporary and Geeky By Michael Hines | Published 2011-11-07 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-dresser References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/11/02/tetris-sideboard-concept/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Ttris/2417352) It’s tough to find a piece of furniture more puzzling than the Tetris Dresser. This dresser is designed with each of its drawers in the shape of Tetris blocks. The Tetris Dresser was designed by Pedro Machado as part of his T@tris Furniture line. The dresser has multiple drawers of varying sizes and even includes two square ottomans and a slide-out writing desk to round out the entire block collection. While I do love the minimalist coloring of this piece, a little more color would be nice. Tetris itself is a very colorful game, and I think every item designed after the game should reflect that. Besides, how amazing would it be to have a multicolored Tetris Dresser in your bedroom? If you are someone who thrives off of color coordination, the answer is “very.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Geeky Furniture:** The Tetris Dresser reflects the trend of incorporating geeky elements in furniture design. - **Minimalist Design:** The minimalist coloring of the Tetris Dresser highlights the trend of simplicity and clean lines in furniture design. - **Block Shapes:** The use of Tetris block shapes in the design of the dresser taps into the trend of geometric and modular furniture. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The Tetris Dresser presents an opportunity for furniture designers to create unique and playful pieces inspired by iconic games. - **Gaming Accessories:** The incorporation of gaming aesthetics in furniture, such as the Tetris Dresser, opens up opportunities for gaming accessory companies to expand their product offerings into home decor. - **Home Interior Design:** The Tetris Dresser caters to the trend of incorporating unconventional and eye-catching furniture in home interior design, providing an opportunity for designers to create visually striking spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Game-Inspired Playable Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-solid.md) - [Color-Centric Modular Drawers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floyd.md) - [Jigsaw Puzzle-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puzzle-shelf.md) - [Organized Gaming Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte.md) - [Tetrahedral Desk Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-puzzles.md) - [Elegant Desktop Brainteaser Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craighill-tetra.md) - [Interlocking Puzzle-Like Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-table.md) - [Puzzling Removable Tray Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-puzzle-table.md)
