While many people enjoy decorating for Halloween, this decor is usually limited to [carving a pumpkin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monsters-approved-candies). McConnell's latest project gives a whole new meaning to the idea of spooky decorations. McConnell's toothsome Halloween house is designed to resemble a terrifying monster. To complete the look, McConnell hand-painted a series of foamboard designs. These foam-core boards were used to create the eye and teeth for the house. McConnell then decorated the yard with pumpkins and a few creepy spiderwebs. The end result is a [spooky Halloween house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beetlejuice-character) that is sure to delight children and adults alike. McConnell's project demonstrates that Halloween decor doesn't have to be limited to a simple jack-o-lantern. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Spooky Home Decor:** Opportunity for businesses to create unique and scary home decorations for Halloween. - **Custom Foamboard Designs:** Businesses can offer custom foamboard designs for creating unique and personalized Halloween decorations. - **Interactive Halloween Displays:** Innovation opportunity for businesses to create interactive Halloween displays that engage and entertain people. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor industry to expand their product lines with spooky Halloween-themed items. - **Arts and Crafts:** Businesses in the arts and crafts industry can offer materials and tutorials for creating custom Halloween decorations. - **Entertainment:** Opportunity for the entertainment industry to create immersive and interactive Halloween experiences for audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gothic Puzzle Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/addams-family-lego.md) - [Spooky Pastel-Hued Halloween Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-spooky-halloween-decor-collection.md) - [Horror-Themed Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unique-stays-club.md) - [Raisin-Themed Haunted Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/themed-haunted-house.md) - [Whimsical Halloween Decor Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michaels-alices-adventures-collection.md) - [Haunted Halloween Donut Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haunted-house-collection.md) - [Family-Friendly Halloween Essentials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oriental-trading.md) - [Halloween-Ready Animatronic Line-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halloween-animatronics.md) - [Film-Inspired Eerie Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beetlejuice-house.md)
