# DIY Ecosystem Furniture Daniel Zeller Goes Green with an Illuminated Terrarium Desk By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-02-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terrarium-desk References: [coolest-gadgets](http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20130212/terrarium-desk-lightens-mood/) & [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/terrarium-desk/26166/) In a successful attempt at turning his apartment into a greener living space, Daniel Zeller customizes his office workspace with a terrarium desk. Illuminated from within with a glass panel exposing all of the [miniature plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-terrarium), the desk adds light to the space and makes the air more breathable. People who find themselves busy working away the day, hardly going outside to get some sun or some fresh air would benefit from transforming their work environment with an illuminated terrarium. Bringing outdoor natural elements within the home can do wonders for lifting people's moods and inspiring them to be more productive. Update a stuffy room in the home or office with an illuminated terrarium desk. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Green Workspaces:** Creating workspaces that incorporate natural elements and improve air quality. - **Indoor Biophilia:** Bringing outdoor natural elements inside to improve mood and productivity. - **Customized Furniture:** Designing and building furniture that enhances both function and aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Incorporating sustainable and natural elements into interior spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Creating customizable furniture pieces that improve well-being and productivity. - **Eco-friendly Products:** Developing products that prioritize sustainability and green living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Integrated Planter Worktables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office.md) - [Terrarium Stool Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wild-stool.md) - [Natural Moss Terrariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petite-foret-plus.md) - [Impressive DIY Terrariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-terrarium1.md) - [Tranquil Plant-Filled Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyer-co.md) - [Office-Friendly Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopo-green-system.md) - [Beach-Inspired Desk Trios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deskterior.md) - [Self-Watering Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivo-pot.md) - [Living Plant DIY Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hideaway.md)
