# Root-Reaching Water Vessels The Terracotta Plant Watering Aqua Cone Goes Deep in the Soil By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-02-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terracotta-plant-watering References: [thegreenhead](http://www.thegreenhead.com/2013/02/terra-cotta-plant-watering-aquacones.php) & [gardeners](http://www.gardeners.com/Terra-Cotta-Aqua-Cones/8586774,default,pd.html) Praised for its naturally non-toxic properties, a terracotta plant watering system is beneficial to the soil and to the plants that grow in it. The Aqua Cone is a simple [auto-release watering tool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-irrigation) that goes deep into the soil, allowing water to percolate straight to the roots of a plant. Fill an empty wine bottle with water and let gravity do the work -- the device will release water slowly through holes in the spout. This method makes it easy to take care of plants with little hassle, only needing to refill the bottle every so often without having to worry about watering the plant every few days.
