If ping-pong and soccer had a child, Teqball would be it. The game is played on a [curved table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funpop-tabletop-pinball-game) called the Teqboard. Players pass a ball up and down the table using their feet, head and other body parts. The makers of Teqball are also developing a technological add-on called the Teqbox. The Teqbox uses a camera-based motion sensor system and event-processing software that measures player skills. Teqball is intended as a game that can be played for pure enjoyment, but also as a coaching tool that could help soccer players develop certain skill sets. It is also useful as a rehabilitation tool for soccer players returning from injury. Some of the world's most respected soccer coaches have given their stamp of approval to Teqball. Ronald Koeman, a legendary Dutch player and coach, sees it as a great form of exercise. Fellow Dutchman Henk ten Cate, who played a key role in developing [FC Barcelona's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noninvasive-health-monitoring-solution) distinct brand of attacking football as an assistant coach, sees it as an interesting coaching tool. > It's a very good promotion of football. Without even knowing you are training, you are training and in a very pleasant way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Table-based Sports:** Teqball is a innovative table sport that combines ping-pong and soccer, creating new opportunities in the world of table-based sports. - **Technological Add-ons:** The development of the Teqbox, a camera-based motion sensor system, presents opportunities for new and enhanced gaming experiences. - **Coaching and Rehabilitation Tools:** Teqball can be used as a coaching tool to develop soccer players' skills and as a rehabilitation tool for injured players. ### Where This Applies - **Sports Equipment Manufacturing:** The creation of Teqball and its unique curved table, the Teqboard, opens up opportunities for innovation in sports equipment manufacturing. - **Gaming Technology:** The Teqbox's camera-based motion sensor system and event-processing software offer opportunities for advancements in gaming technology. - **Sports Coaching and Rehabilitation:** The use of Teqball as a coaching and rehabilitation tool presents opportunities for the sports coaching and rehabilitation industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Soccer Training Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voon-soccer.md) - [Hybrid Party Game Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiburon-tables.md) - [Tech-Enriched Sports Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goal-concept.md) - [Pop Art-Inspired Foosball Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rs4-home-x-hey-foosball-table.md) - [Playful Foosball Toy Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-table-football-moc.md) - [Game-Changing Tennis Equipments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bounce-tub.md) - [Building Block Foosball Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-table-football.md) - [Limited-Edition Foosball Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afternoon-light.md) - [Luxury Transparent Game Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/effetto-71-ping-pong-table.md)
