The device is inspired by the Japanese tradition of kintsugi that highlights the breakage point in an object instead of simply replacing it and thus encourages a more mindful use by the owner. Users are thus required to crack open the speaker to turn it on and reveal a magical illumination unit on the interior that will shine just a bit of [tranquil light in a space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calmtern) as audio is played. The 'Teno' speaker light functions as a light, speaker and speakerphone, but is also more like a [work of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonique) that users will be proud to display within their home or office. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Smart Speaker Design:** The 'Teno' speaker light challenges traditional smart speaker design by incorporating an artful aesthetic and a mindful user experience. - **Kintsugi-inspired Products:** The 'Teno' speaker light taps into the trend of kintsugi-inspired products, highlighting imperfections as a unique feature and encouraging more thoughtful use of everyday objects. - **Multi-functionality in Audio Devices:** The 'Teno' speaker light innovatively combines the functionality of a speaker, speakerphone, and ambient light source, revolutionizing the audio device industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Audio Technology:** The 'Teno' speaker light presents disruptive innovation opportunities in audio technology, merging audio and visual elements to create a unique user experience. - **Interior Design:** The 'Teno' speaker light introduces disruptive innovation opportunities in interior design, blending aesthetics, functionality, and technology in a single product. - **Smart Home:** The 'Teno' speaker light contributes to disrupt the smart home industry by offering a multifunctional and visually appealing device that enhances both audio and lighting aspects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Drop-Shaped Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantheone-audio-obsidian.md) - [50s-Style Light Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-speaker.md) - [Repairable Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-speaker.md) - [Visually Attractive Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-pro-t3-jepson-edition.md) - [Mood-Setting Speaker Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-bluetooth-speaker-with-light.md) - [Invigorating Speaker Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-and-visual-device.md) - [Book-Holding Bedside Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedside-speaker.md) - [Physically Interactive AI Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iris-hybrid-speaker.md) - [Ambient Lantern-Like Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calmtern.md)
