# Translucent Temporary Facades This Temporary Structure Changes the Front of a Lighting Studio By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-10-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temporary-structure References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/interactive-temporary-building-facade-mahsa-vanaki/) & [m-v-studio](http://www.m-v-studio.com/) Mahsa Vanaki's [temporary structure design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-liberia) is a [portable façade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curly-cube) that was designed for an event at a lighting studio. Since there were restrictions that prevented the Looma lighting studio from making any permanent changes to the front of the building, this called for a design that could easily be set up and taken down without doing any damage. When it's not illuminated from behind, the structure looks dream-like and cloudy, featuring a repeated diamond pattern. When it became night, an [interactive LED light show](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible) completely changed the tone of the structure, causing it to shift colors from pink to green to blue. This is a clever way to create a completely new experience for a space that's familiar. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Translucent Temporary Facades:** Opportunity to create portable and customizable façades for events or situations where permanent changes are not feasible. - **Interactive LED Light Shows:** Opportunity to create interactive light shows using LED technology to transform spaces and create new experiences. - **Diamond-patterned Designs:** Opportunity to incorporate diamond-patterned designs for a dream-like, ethereal effect in architectural structures. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Event Planning:** Opportunity to provide unique event experiences with customized temporary facades and interactive LED light shows. - **Architecture and Design:** Opportunity to incorporate translucent temporary facades and diamond-patterned designs to add creative flair to existing structures. - **Lighting and LED Technology:** Opportunity to innovate new ways to use LED lighting for interactive experiences and architectural designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Luminous Park Domes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osmanthus-moon.md) - [Public Pavilion Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tess-pavilion.md) - [Segmented Lightflow Art Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-capsule-in-time.md) - [Perforated Light-Passing Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circle-pavilion.md) - [Metal-Wrapped Exhibition Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trace-architecture.md) - [Neon Illustation-Donned Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crafted-world-exhibition-1.md) - [Kinetic Interaction Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transmutation-observatory.md) - [Light Filtered Glulam Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paviljong-rosendal.md) - [Performance-Driven Public Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fourth-wall.md)
