The cup comes with a detachable timer that doubles as a pot, so that tea or a similar [hot beverage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperature-control-smart-mug) can be made easily and quickly at your desk without having to fool around with a [kettle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gooseneck-kettles), pot, or some kind of elaborate production process. The timer can also be customized to ring after 1-7 minutes, so while the Tempo cup may be an ingenious invention, it is also a surprisingly user-friendly one as well.
