# Location-Specific Thermometers The 'Turo' Temperature Device Provides Accurate Readings By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-11-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperature-device References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/11/22/but-baby-its-cold-outside/) Utilizing your smartphone or AI assistant for weather readings usually brings about a generalized bit of information, so the 'Turo' temperature device is intended to provide more specific results. The 'Turo' consists of a thermometer that can be placed just about anywhere indoors or out that you wish and a display module that will show the exact temperature. This means users can get an accurate reading of what the temperature is like in their area rather than the [generalized region that they live](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rainbow-weather). The 'Turo' temperature device is the design work of Justeen Lee and can be used in a wide array of different ways in and around the home. It acts as a great addition to an existing framework to help provide additional information. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Location-specific Devices:** The development of location-specific devices offers a new way to provide accurate and personalized data that can disrupt the market. - **Smart Homes Integration:** Integration of the 'Turo' device with smart home systems creates new opportunities for automation and control in the home. - **Personalized Weather Monitoring:** The 'Turo' device opens up opportunities for more personalized and customized weather monitoring for individuals and businesses. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** The 'Turo' temperature device creates opportunities for consumer electronic companies to develop similar location-specific devices. - **Smart Homes:** The integration of the 'Turo' device with smart home systems provides opportunities for disruption in the smart home industry. - **Weather Monitoring:** The 'Turo' device can disrupt the weather monitoring industry by providing more accurate and personalized data for individuals and businesses. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accurate Temperature Monitoring Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-hygrometer-thermometer.md) - [Connected Home Temperature Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-meter-plus.md) - [Touchscreen Thermometer Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchscreen-thermometer-apps.md) - [Wireless Smart Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-smart-thermometer.md) - [Digital LED Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/therm-c.md) - [Temperature-Monitoring Earrings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-earring.md) - [Toy-Like Duck-Inspired Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ducky-thermometer.md) - [Accessible Environment Sensors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-temperature-and-humidity-monitor-3-mini.md) - [All-Weather Cooking Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chefstemp-protemp-plus.md)
