About three decades ago, Jantzen began to construct and design his concept for this revolving restaurant -- a windowless revolving restaurant that would replace its windows with large video screens. The idea includes mounting [real-time video cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transmutation-observatory) on top of a tall support tower built into the center of the restaurant, enabling a real-time view seen by the cameras on top of the tower, sent down into the perimeter of the restaurant. The cameras would slowly rotate, giving diners the feeling of the building rotating. Real time images could be sent from anywhere in the world via the Internet from separate camera tower installations, so each day the restaurant would have a different view and menu to match. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Revolving Restaurant Redesign:** Opportunities exist in redesigning the traditional revolving restaurant model to accommodate today's technology and transform the dining experience. - **Virtual Reality Dining:** Incorporating virtual reality technology into the dining experience has potential to revolutionize the way people eat out and interact with their surroundings. - **Real-time Internet-linked Restaurants:** Real-time viewing technology linked to the internet allows for dynamic, ever-changing restaurant experiences and menu rotations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Hospitality Industry:** The hospitality industry can revolutionize the dining experience by embracing the latest in technology, such as live feeds, virtual reality, and more. - **Entertainment Industry:** The entertainment industry can find opportunities in combining dining experiences with other forms of entertainment such as virtual reality experiences, live performances, and interactive media. - **Technology Industry:** The technology industry has potential to disrupt traditional dining experiences by providing new tools such as real-time video feeds and virtual reality that create immersive, ever-changing environments for diners to enjoy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md) - [Retro-Futurist Restaurant Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturist-restaurant.md) - [Futuristic Tech-Led Diners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-diner.md) - [Cinematically Designed Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daphne-restaurant.md) - [TV Dinner Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tv-dinners-restaurant.md) - [Rotating Shutter OLED TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/partial-screen.md) - [Space Tourism-Inspired Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ichi-station.md) - [Remote Viewing Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/telepresence-observation-pavilion.md) - [Streaming Platform Dining Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tv-dinner-popup.md)
