Seiko Unveils New Watch Honoring ‘The Masked Rider’

Seiko has revealed a new television character-inspired watch called the Seiko 5 Sports 55th Anniversary Masked Rider Limited Edition SRPJ91 Watch. The watch pays tribute to 'The Masked Rider,' a Japanese superhero television series franchise. The television series follows a motorcycle-riding masked superhero, Masked Rider, who fights crime against a shadowy criminal organization set on world domination.

The watch's design is inspired by Masked Rider's original design from the television series. The watch features a speckled dark green dial similar to the color scheme of Masked Rider's helmet. With a 42.5 mm stainless steel case, the watch also contains a 4R36 automatic movement with 24 jewels and a 41-hour power reserve. The strap of the watch comes in black calfskin leather. The back of the strap is in red leather, and the seconds hand is also colored red, which both are inspired by Masked RIder's iconic red scarf. Additionally, the watch's semi-transparent case-back features each unit's individual production number and the classic Tachibana Racing logo that was on Masked Rider's motorcycle and belt.

There are only 4,000 units made, and the watch will be available for $4,998 in NOK on April 2023.
