# Pleated Pendant Lights The Tectum Lamp Showcases the Sinuous Line of a Tiled Rooftop By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-06-03 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tectum-lamp References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/TECTUM-Lamp-Recycled-PVC-Roof-Panels-waste/2778993) One industry's trash can be another one's treasure. You might not have even guessed that each Tectum Lamp was actually assembled from [recycled singles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apeel). Their stylish undulating contours seem to have been fashioned deliberately for the purpose of interior home fixtures rather than exterior construction. Designer Jasmina Kontic used panels of sinuous PVC roofing, carefully rolled and molded them in the direction of their existing curves and joined opposite ends together for a perfectly [continuous fringe of full semicircular bends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loja). An ebony black finish was applied to the outside of each elegant lampshade to soften the look of the seam and so not to detract from the beauty of the shape with surface detail. Bright neon colors create a visual pop on the inside of the Tectum Lamps and set them off as exciting examples of [contemporary design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nytt-lys-collection). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Recycled Interior Design:** Opportunity to create stylish and sustainable interior fixtures by repurposing recycled materials. - **Sustainable Lighting:** Innovative lighting solutions that focus on eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes. - **Contemporary Design with Pop:** Using bright neon colors to create visually striking and modern design elements. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Elevating interior spaces through the use of recycled materials and contemporary design. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Incorporating sustainable practices and materials into the production of lighting fixtures. - **Home Decor Retail:** Offering unique and eco-conscious lighting options to consumers looking for contemporary design elements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Recycled Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zbozhzha-pendant-light.md) - [Stealthy Pendant Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp.md) - [Fishnet-Made Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-mycreation-droplet-lamp.md) - [Exquisite Textured Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendant-lamp1.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Maximalist Arched Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oblure.md) - [Encapsulated Semi-Transparent Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nested-pendant-light.md) - [Dazzling Polyhedral Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puff-pendant-lights.md) - [Glassmaking Tubular Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flare-light.md)
