# Techno Tables A Computer Converted into a Partytastic Countertop By Alex Scott | Published 2010-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/techno-table References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/5446346/two-apple-g4s-died-to-make-this-microchip-table) & [web.mac](http://web.mac.com/jadler78/justinadler.tv/The_Microchip_Table.html) If you have a man cave (aka bachelor pad) like me, then you’re always looking for exciting new additions to spruce up your space. Whether it be a framed Steve McQueen movie poster or a piece of sleek furniture or even this techno table made from derelict G4 computers. Though it is a bit on the geeky side, I can’t think of a better piece of furniture to play poker on. My hat goes off to Justin Adler for constructing this techno table. I think when I get home I’m going to try and convert my Dell into a pinball machine. Wish me luck! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Upcycled Furniture:** Opportunity to create unique and sustainable furniture by repurposing old electronics. - **Geek Chic Decor:** Potential to cater to the growing demand for furniture and decor items with a tech-inspired aesthetic. - **Gamified Furniture:** Innovative ways to incorporate interactive elements into furniture designs for entertainment purposes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for furniture designers to explore upcycling techniques and integrate technology. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to tap into the market of tech-savvy consumers looking for unique and geeky home decor items. - **Gaming and Entertainment:** Potential to create gamified furniture that enhances the gaming experience and adds a unique element to entertainment spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Computer-Equipped Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-coffee-table.md) - [Subtly Smart Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/etto-table.md) - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md) - [Repurposed Vintage Apple Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repurposed-vintage-apple-computers.md) - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Digital Board Game Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arena.md) - [Luxury Transparent Game Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/effetto-71-ping-pong-table.md) - [Connected Touchscreen TV Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-telly-table.md) - [Hybrid Party Game Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiburon-tables.md)
