# Paper Page Cups These Delicate Tea Cups are Carefully Fashioned Out of Book Pages By M | Published 2016-03-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-cups References: [boredpanda](http://www.boredpanda.com/old-book-recycling-paper-art-cecilia-levy/) & [cecilialevy](http://www.cecilialevy.com/) Creative Cecilia Levy has found a way to repurpose the [pages of old novels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) by transforming them into tea cups and other household objects through [delicate folding](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes). The brittle and faded pages of the books are creatively used to replicate the aesthetic of everyday items to appear to be fully functional that are incredibly delicate and beautiful. To some it might seem sacrilegious to tear up the pages of a book, but Levy's work doesn't desecrate the words or disregards the novel's integrity. Instead the pages are simply repurposed and transformed into new shapes with careful folding. The books are used to recreate items such as [tea cups and saucers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundsip) in realistic detail from the curvature in the dishware to the detail in the handles. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Repurposed Novel Items:** Creative ways of repurposing old novels into new items through careful folding. - **Delicate Eco-friendly Design:** Eco-friendly designs utilizing delicate and creative folding techniques. - **Novel Aesthetic Replication:** Replication of everyday items, using novel pages to create a delicate aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Eco-friendly Houseware:** Creation of eco-friendly houseware through novel reformation and creative folding. - **Art and Design:** Development of art and design products, specifically home goods that are innovative in form and composition. - **Book Manufacturing:** Manufacturing of books with an emphasis on repurposing techniques, potentially reducing waste. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Effortless Tea Brewing Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuptone-teacup.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Collapsible Folding Carrier Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup.md) - [Sustainable Upcycled Glass Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hmm-design.md) - [Ready-to-Sip Tea Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cup-ji.md) - [Modular Porcelain Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corcelain.md) - [Grown Drinkware Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourd.md) - [Detailed Ceramic Book Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biblio-bloom.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md)
