As an homage to hip hop's heyday, the TDK Boombox is retro revival with a modern twist. The TDK Boombox may look old-school on the outside, but it's nothing but new-school on the inside. The piece is still [uber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/callback-8020) avant-garde with a leather shoulder strap, touchscreen capabilities and USB, 3.5mm and RCA auxiliary ports. The TDK Boombox will let you feed your retro revival hunger without ever having to pick up a [cassette tape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cp81). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Retro Revival:** Opportunity to create modern versions of nostalgic products that cater to consumers' desire for vintage aesthetics with contemporary features. - **Tech-infused Retro:** Opportunity to combine retro designs with advanced technology to create innovative and unique products. - **Portable Audio:** Opportunity to develop portable audio devices that provide high-quality sound and versatile connectivity options for on-the-go users. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in creating retro-inspired devices with advanced features to appeal to tech-savvy consumers. - **Fashion Accessories:** Opportunity to design stylish and functional carrying straps and cases for retro-inspired audio devices. - **Music Streaming:** Opportunity to incorporate streaming capabilities and compatibility with digital music platforms into retro-styled audio devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nostalgic Retro Music Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-mixtape-kit.md) - [Juxtaposing Modern Streaming Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/songbook.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-technology-tech-brand-kickbacks-discman-is-nostalgic.md) - [Modernized Retro Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-memory.md) - [Speaker-Equipped Retro Coolers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kooltunes.md) - [Retrofuturistic Tube Amplifier Jukeboxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dukebox.md) - [Cassette-Inspired Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-audio-player.md) - [Nostalgic Colorful Casette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/we001-edith.md) - ['80-Style Portable Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-burger.md)
