# Taxidermy Text "Life Can Be So Nice" Dead Animal Font By Cowbag | Published 2008-08-27 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taxidermy-as-a-font-dead-animals-spell-out-prince-lyrics References: [ravishingbeasts](http://www.ravishingbeasts.com/home/2008/7/31/life-can-be-so-nice.html) & [iris-schieferstein.de](http://www.iris-schieferstein.de/) I love animals and don't really approve of traditional taxidermy, however I must admit I am drawn to **Iris Shieferstein**'s series, "**Life can be so nice**". In this piece, the Danish artist's dead animals, having been through the taxidermy process, are used as a really messed up dead animal font. Animals such as little pigs, snakes, birds, and other small creatures are combined into new species and posed to spell out a refrain from the Prince song "Life can be so nice." Not really sure where the Prince song comes in, but even without this knowledge, I think it makes a really strong statement. If I had to choose one aspect of this piece that made my flesh crawl, it would most certainly by the owl head used as the 's' in 'so'. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Surreal Taxidermy Art:** This trend creates opportunities for the art and interior design industries to explore innovative ways of displaying and using taxidermy. - **Animal-inspired Fonts:** This trend provides opportunities for design and typography industries to explore their creativity and create new fonts inspired by animals. - **Controversial Art Forms:** This trend provides opportunities for the art industry to explore art forms that create conversations and spark debates. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** The use of non-traditional materials in art presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the industry to explore new ways of creating and displaying art. - **Interior Design:** Surreal taxidermy art creates opportunities for interior designers to explore new ways of incorporating unusual features into their designs. - **Typography and Design:** Creating animal-inspired fonts presents an innovative opportunity for typography and design industries to explore new aspects of typography and create new fonts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Wild Animal-Decorated Gowns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schiaparelli-lion-head.md) - [Charming Creepy Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deddy-bears.md) - [Provocative AR Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/not-so-happy-animals.md) - [Creature-Inspired Home Good Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charles-jeffreys-loverboy.md) - [Pattern-Heavy Design Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/what-are-you-looking-at.md) - [Typography-Inspired Lifestyle Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-industries.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Interactive Typo Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loveegolov.md)
