The Taxi Transfer Simultaneously is ideal for the other 90% of the time when a lift to your next location seems impossible to pin down. If this system by 108 Industrial Design Studio were installed in cities, there would no longer be a need to reserve a pickup over the telephone or online. At regular intervals along the sidewalk, the curb would be embedded with a [weight-sensitive interface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-light-bench) on which people are urged to stand and wait. Transparent panels of fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polypropylene are enhanced with a blue glow at night. When one steps onto the Taxi Transfer Simultaneously and remains still for 10 seconds, a [cab nearby driver is alerted](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taxi-driver) to the job and exact coordinates. Upon accepting the pickup the platform becomes a bright green. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Taxi System:** The integration of technology for the efficient allocation of taxis and riders in a given location. - **Smart Cities Transportation:** Innovations in transportation planning and design that seek to improve the mobility and ease of access within a city. - **Alternative Transportation Solutions:** Identification of options for mobility that reduces reliance on personal cars, such as ride-sharing or bike-sharing services. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Transportation:** Development of innovative transport systems to meet new customer demands and expectations. - **Smart City Technology:** Smart City-oriented infrastructure integration such as urban mobility planning and transportation solutions. - **Sustainability:** Utilizing eco-friendly options within transportation services as well as minimizing fuel consumption, congestion, and air pollution. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Capaciously Compact Robotaxis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-taxis.md) - [Space-Saving Urban Mobility Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/project-doro.md) - [Modular Rideshare Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gogo-ride-sharing-concept.md) - [Belize-Based Sustainable Transportation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eride-taxi.md) - [Convenience-Focused Transportation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transportation-apps.md) - [Innovative Electric Trams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-tram.md) - [Autonomous Interactive Shuttle Buses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coach-atoz-shuttle-bus.md) - [Shareable Autonomous Vehicle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tesla-cybercab.md) - [Accesible Autonomous Transportation Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-mobility-service.md)
