# Tattooed Senior Photography Reddit User 'clevknife' Captured Photos of Tattooed Seniors By Megan Facciuolo | Published 2014-04-16 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tattooed-seniors References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/365077/Photos-Of-Inked-Seniors-Show-What-Tattoos-Look-Like-On-Aging-Skin/) & [imgur](http://imgur.com/a/y8k0L) Tattoo culture has grown increasingly over the past few decades, but many hold back joining in because they wonder what they would look like as a tattooed senior. [Reddit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reddit-introduced) User 'clevknife' will get rid of any thoughts you have about those future "saggy-looking" tattoos with this photography series. Badass-looking seniors let their personalities and tattoos shine through in these captures. Many of them have full-arm sleeves and full-body tattoos. Some are featured shirtless and the tattoos still look great; however, some have no-doubt had their tattoos touched up. But even those without the touch ups still rock what they got and you can distinctly see what their tattoos are of. The most shocking image in the series is a side-by-side one that displays an older gentleman fully-clothed on one side and then displays him donning only his underwear in the other. You would never have expected him to have a body full of tattoos underneath his clothing! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Seniors](https://www.trendhunter.com/seniors) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Growing Tattoo Culture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative tattoo techniques and designs specifically tailored for seniors. - **Tattooed Senior Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a platform or service that connects older individuals with photographers who specialize in capturing their tattooed selves. - **Body Positivity for Seniors:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Launch a marketing campaign or create products that promote body positivity and self-expression through tattoos for seniors. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tattoo Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize advanced technologies like virtual reality or augmented reality to help individuals visualize and design their future tattooed selves. - **Photography Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new techniques and equipment specifically for capturing the unique beauty and personalities of tattooed seniors. - **Fashion Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with tattoo artists to create clothing and accessories that complement and showcase senior's tattoos in a fashionable way. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transformative Survivor Tattoos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mark-of-life.md) - [Pro-Aging Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/give-us-the-finger.md) - [Tattoo-Covered Beer Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/86-tattoo-limited-edition.md) - [Unusual Food Tattoo Challenges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omaha-steak.md) - [Tattooed Digital Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superlotl-by-inkbox.md) - [Generative Art Tattoo Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot-1.md) - [Elderly Cannabis Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/im-high-right-now-campaign.md) - [Body Artwork-Inspired Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/body-tattoo.md) - [Bespoke Car Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Tattoo-Inspired-Land-Rover.md)
