Koï is a tattooed Japanese restaurant. The interior of the space has been intricately patterned with Yakuza-inspired tattoo art by surface pattern designer Claire Leina. The results are visually striking, to say the very least. Highly Instagrammable -- which is an important feature in this day and age -- if the food is as good as the design, it will be a hard destination to beat.

[Located in Aix-en-Provence, France](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frenchinspired-stake), the tattooed Japanese restaurant uses this black and white motif on the entranceway walls, floors, ceilings and bathrooms, yet more sparingly in the dining areas. This is where people should be focusing on something else. Instead, this part boasts metallic red chairs, timber flooring, warm mood lighting and concrete countertops.
