Layers upon layers of symbolic icons are compiled in every illustration, inviting viewers to take a closer look and delve into the meaning and ideology behind the graphics. Maiden is fond of combining [religious imagery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anima) with his tattoo art, covering spiritual identities from different beliefs in [body ink](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barriere), staining their appearance. The tattoos are done in blue, harking back to the retro days of body art when every tattoo had a personal meaning to the wearer. Ramon Maiden's use of religious iconography in his tattoo artwork is enticingly sacrilegious. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Spiritual Tattoo Art:** Opportunity for innovation in integrating religious iconography and tattoo art. - **Symbolic Body Ink:** Potential for disruptive innovation in creating intricate and meaningful tattoo designs. - **Retro-style Tattooing:** Opportunity for innovation in bringing back traditional methods and designs of body art. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tattoo Industry:** Potential for disruptive innovation in incorporating deeper meanings and symbols to tattoo art. - **Art Industry:** Opportunity for innovation in merging traditional religious iconography with modern tattoo art. - **Design Industry:** Potential for disruptive innovation in creating new and unique styles of tattoo art inspired by religious symbols and imagery. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bespoke Car Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Tattoo-Inspired-Land-Rover.md) - [Body Artwork-Inspired Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/body-tattoo.md) - [Interactive Tattoo Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inkstory.md) - [Tattoo-Covered Beer Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/86-tattoo-limited-edition.md) - [Tattooed Digital Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superlotl-by-inkbox.md) - [Dainty Minimalist Temporary Tattoos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/winterstone.md) - [AI Tattoo Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ink-studio-ai.md) - [Online Tattoo Art Marketplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot.md) - [Generative Art Tattoo Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot-1.md)
