# On-Officer Recording Systems Taser 'Axon' and Evidence.com Will Revolutionize "COPS" By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-03-23 | Business Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taser-axon-evidencecom References: [engadget](http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/23/tasers-axon-on-officer-recording-system-could-revolutionize-cop/) & [taser](http://www.taser.com/products/law/Pages/TASERAXON.aspx) Taser International's [Axon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taser-device) and Evidence.com on-officer recording systems are meant to capture and store police footage without the possibility of it being tampered with. The first component is the Taser Axon, a recording device that's worn similar to a pair of behind-the-head headphones. Officers who wear the camera agree to have their movements recorded. Next, the captured footage is ferreted away to Evidence.com servers, which are managed by an exterior source. Sensors can detect if data has been tampered with. The Taser Axon and Evidence.com on-officer recording system should be ready to roll out by the third quarter of 2009. I'm hoping this will coincide with a formatting change for "COPS." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 20% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Business](https://www.trendhunter.com/business) > [New Ventures](https://www.trendhunter.com/newventures) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **On-officer Recording Systems:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the law enforcement industry by introducing wearable cameras and secure storage systems for recording and storing police footage. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Law Enforcement:** The implementation of on-officer recording systems can revolutionize the law enforcement industry by improving accountability and transparency. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Discreet Portable Tasers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taser-device.md) - [Compact Body Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-body-camera.md) - [AI-Powered Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nexar-one-dash-cam.md) - [Cellular Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cellular-security-cameras.md) - [Camera-Equipped Exercise Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-urban-eyes-vest.md) - [Digital Evidence Management Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evidence-management.md) - [Intuitive Interface Audio Recorders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tascam-portacapture-x8.md) - [High-Definition Dashboard Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ring-car-cam.md) - [Dual-Direction Rearview Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolfbox-g900.md)
