# Pointed Treehouse Abodes The Taringa Treehouse Features a Sharp Garden and a Climbing Wall By Joey Haar | Published 2017-09-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taringa-treehouse References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2017/09/04/phorm-architecture-design-taringa-treehouse-house-extension-brisbane-climbing-wall/) The Taringa Treehouse is an ideal home for lovers of the outdoors. That's because the Brisbane, Australia, home does everything it can to bring the outdoors inside. It's aggressive, sharp design contains a [garden](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-waverley-house), a sunroom that doubles as a study, and even a [climbing wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-leisure-habitat). Phorm Architecture + Design, the studio behind the home, designed it to take the best aspects of a [treehouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burl-treehouse), as its name suggests. This meant incorporating a playful attitude wherever possible. One such example of that is the series of climbing elements on the ground floor, allowing its sporty residents to get their vertical exercise inside in lieu of climbing the trees outside. To be sure, the home is in the midst of trees, being located in the woods of Queensland. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Indoor-outdoor Living:** Opportunity for innovation in creating seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces in residential designs. - **Playful Architecture:** Potential for disruptive innovation in incorporating unconventional and whimsical elements into architectural designs. - **Incorporating Nature:** Opportunity for innovation in integrating natural elements, like gardens and climbing walls, into residential spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Residential Architecture:** Chance for disruptive innovation in designing unique and nature-centric residential structures. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Opportunity for innovation in creating indoor climbing experiences that simulate the outdoors. - **Home Improvement and Garden Design:** Potential for disruptive innovation in creating innovative garden features that can be incorporated inside homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vaulted Structural Telescopic Treehouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistree-home.md) - [Tree-Surrounding Mass-Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-courtyard-house.md) - [Slatted Steel Treehouse Surroundings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sawmill-treehouse.md) - [Living Landscape Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hedge-and-arbour-house.md) - [Nature-Immersive Tranquil Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treehouse-villas.md) - [Angular Black Cantilevered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove.md) - [Modern Rounded Treehouse Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burl-treehouse.md) - [Clay Ridge Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdwood-house.md)
