Each piece is capped with gunmetal reflective tops. The timeless game often undergoes [creative redesigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollsroyce-chess-set) to fit the chessboard in various modern settings. Tarek Elkassouf aimed to create a version of the age-old game that fits minimalist design schemes. The designer explains that "they say that all artists are not chess players, but all chess players are artists" and that chessboards are altars of concentration. These concepts guided the designer to create a board that allows players to focus on the game, their strategy and stay in the moment. The pieces are designed with midcentury motifs, making for a sleek futuristic appeal.
