In the Top of the Lines expo featuring NO CURVES, the artist uses different techniques to create the [illusion of curves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection) and shadowing.

With a large focus on portraits and faces, it would seem challenging to avoid using any curves at all, and from a distance it appears that the artist has cheated us all and went ahead with curved lines. Taking a closer look would reveal that they have stuck to their word and only used the straightest possible lines and sharpest angles in the artwork.

Astoundingly it is a play with [colors and shapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shape-of-play) that gives the [tape design artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frames-exhibition) its curvature and realistic appearance. The use of bright streaks of colorful tape that extend well beyond the borders of each portrait draws attention to the dynamically bold details.
