# War-Ready Computer Cases Skip Station's Tank PC Case Mod Keeps Your Files Safe Under Fire By Michael Hines | Published 2011-05-15 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tank-pc-case-mod References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/05/12/army-tank-pc-casemod/) & [skipstation](http://www.skipstation.com/projects/case-mods/tank-computer/) Modder Skip Station is ensuring that his computer will never go down without a fight with his tank PC case mod. This mod turns an RC M1A2 Abrams tank into a fully functional computer case. I am always floored by the unique [computer case mods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silverstone-flp03) that come my way, but not even I can think of a hyperbolic saying that would accurately describe how awesome the tank PC case mod is. The fact that Station was able to cram all of his computer's components into it and add a DVD drive is cool, but when you take into account the fact that this tank can still drive and shoot (plastic BBs) then it becomes officially "off the chain." I never thought I would use that saying to describe a case mod. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Unique Computer Case Mods:** Exploring innovative ways to transform computer cases into unique and functional designs, such as turning an RC tank into a fully functional computer case. - **Integration of Functional Features:** Incorporating additional functionalities into computer cases, like driving and shooting capabilities, to enhance user experience. - **Compact and Space-saving Designs:** Developing computer cases that can effectively house all necessary components in a smaller and more efficient form factor. ### Where This Applies - **Computer Hardware Manufacturing:** Exploring new opportunities to create innovative computer cases that cater to the evolving needs and preferences of consumers. - **Gaming and Entertainment:** Providing unique and immersive gaming experiences through novel computer case mods that integrate interactive functionalities. - **DIY and Modding Community:** Supporting the growing DIY and modding community by offering new and exciting case mod ideas and products for enthusiasts to explore. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro-Inspired PC Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro95.md) - [Predator-Shaped PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooler-master-shark-x.md) - [Sneaker-Styled Computer Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooler-master-sneaker-x.md) - [High-Performance LED Computer Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerocool-menace-saturn-rgb-tower-case.md) - [Ultra-Spacious Computer Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haf-700-evo.md) - [Aggressively Armored Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/battletank-mouse.md) - [Timber eSports Computer Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyberwood-pc-case.md) - [Minimalist Professional PC Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyte-revolt-3-itx-pc-case.md) - [Fish Tank-Inspired Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atlas-p2-cg.md)
