The clocked is outfitted with a [continuous movement clock mechanism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moir-clock) that is reported to not make any audible noise when in operation. This will eliminate the annoying tick that is often observed with traditional clocks that comes as something of an audible nuisance in homes and offices alike. The 'Tangent Clock' is designed to sit on the edge of a shelf or surface and will spin its hands freely to bring about an [open-concept time telling experience](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radius-clock). The rustic clock comes with either black or white hands and can also be vertically positioned to maintain the aesthetic of a sundial. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Silent Clocks:** Designing clocks that operate silently will appeal to consumers looking for a more peaceful environment for homes and offices. - **Open-concept Design:** There is a growing demand for products that have an open-concept design, and developing solutions for traditional items, such as clocks, can be a disruptive innovation opportunity. - **Versatile Home Decor:** The 'Tangent Clock' offers a versatile and unique home decor option that could lead to designing products that serve multiple purposes and can be placed in various locations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Developing new products that offer more versatile and unique designs, like the 'Tangent Clock', can disrupt the home decor industry and appeal to consumers looking for functional and beautiful products. - **Office Supplies:** Creating clocks that operate silently can appeal to the office supplies industry as it offers a more peaceful work environment for employees. - **Consumer Electronics:** Integrating open-concept design into traditional products like clocks can present an opportunity for innovation and disruption in the consumer electronics industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Concentric Timezone Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-wall-clock.md) - [Minimal Sculptural Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trace-line.md) - [Intentionally Foggy Clock Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kehai-clock.md) - [Two-Sided Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corner-clock.md) - [Tranquil Asymmetrical Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooj-design-masuno-clock.md) - [Reimagined Modern Pendulum Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heng-alarm.md) - [Dynamic Shadow Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/textural-wall-clock.md) - [Elegant Linear Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clockworks.md) - [Unique Timekeeping Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unique-timekeeping-device.md)
