# Bong-Inspired Nutcrackers Tan Jun Yuan's Nutcracker is Perfect for People With the Munchies By Michael Hines | Published 2010-08-21 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tan-jun-yuan References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/08/18/deez-nuts/) Tan Jun Yuan’s nutcracker is an interesting take on the age-old device. This nutcracker uses gravity and a weight to open a nut contained in a cylindrical chamber. I’m just going to say it now, Tan Jun Yuan’s nutcracker really, *really* looks like a bong. It seems to work fairly well though, and maybe the bong-like shape could be a selling point. Check out the gallery above to see Yuan’s nutcracker in action. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Bong-inspired Nutcrackers:** Opportunity to disrupt the nutcracker industry by incorporating unique and unconventional designs, such as bong-inspired nutcrackers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchenware:** Potential for innovation in the kitchenware industry by introducing unconventional nutcracker designs that appeal to a niche market. - **Gifts & Novelties:** Disruptive potential in the gifts and novelties industry by offering unique and quirky nutcracker designs, such as bong-inspired nutcrackers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Nutcracker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maillet.md) - [Springy Safety-Focused Nutcrackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silicone-nutcracker.md) - [Automated Countertop Nut Crackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pelamatic-electric-nut-cracker.md) - [Branded Beer-Opening Nutcrackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beeropening-nutcrackers.md) - [Macaron-Resembling Colorful Grinders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sucuk-bratwurst.md) - [Festive Nutcracker Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/specially-selected-hazel-nutcracker.md) - [Sculptural Bong Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bong.md) - [Layered Cannabis Grinders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cannabis-grinders.md) - [Kitchenware Christmas Crackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortnums-1707-crackers.md)
