# Contemporary Cable Workstations The Tambour Table Helps Organize Your Geek Gadgets By Michael Hines | Published 2012-05-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tambour-table References: [designbuzz](http://www.designbuzz.com/michael-bambinos-tambour-table-hides-fugly-cables-hidden-storage.html) & [michaelbambinodesign](http://www.michaelbambinodesign.com/) The Tambour Table is a modern and inventive desk designed by Michael Bambino to hide cables. The desk has a simple and clean design, consisting of a wood tambour tabletop and metal legs. Concealed underneath the tabletop is an outlet and a handful of USB ports. The top of the Tambour Table can be rotated to reveal a hidden storage area, and the aforementioned power ports. The legs of the tables are hollow and have a hole on the bottom, letting you run power cords through them. This ensures that no matter what, your cables will be stored safely and out of the way. Bambino's table is perfect for tech geeks, or those who just can't seem to keep their desks clean. Its smooth and functional design ensures that furniture snobs (you know who you are) will love it just as much. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Concealed Cable Solutions:** Innovative furniture designs like the Tambour Table offer opportunities for creating sleek, clutter-free workspaces by hiding cables. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Designers can explore the potential of combining furniture with hidden storage compartments, like the Tambour Table, to provide practical solutions for organizing gadgets and cables. - **Smart Workspace Design:** The creation of furniture pieces with integrated power outlets and USB ports, such as the Tambour Table, opens up possibilities for creating efficient and tech-savvy workspaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The furniture industry can leverage the trend of concealed cable solutions to offer customers aesthetically pleasing and functional workstations. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can tap into the multi-functional furniture trend to provide clients with elegant and clutter-free office spaces that enhance productivity. - **Technology Accessories:** Companies specializing in technology accessories can collaborate with furniture designers to create innovative products that integrate power outlets and USB ports seamlessly into workstations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Modular Working Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-working-desk.md) - [Multifuntional Modular Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table.md) - [Integrated Charging Hub Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magpower-tables.md) - [Subtle Tech-Infused Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koble-tori-40.md) - [Tech-Friendly Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nendo-twins-side-table.md) - [Minimalist Clutter-Free Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel-work-table.md) - [Tubular Construction Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-flow-desk.md) - [Modular Cable Organizer Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cords.md)
