# Glowing LED Installations The Tamar Frank Into The Great Wide Open Exhibit is Vibrant By Jordy E | Published 2013-01-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamar-frank References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/tamar-frank-fireflies-installation) & [lightspace.org](http://www.lightspace.org) Artist Tamar Frank put up a brilliant [LED installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumino1) in celebration of the Netherlands-based Into The Great Wide Open music festival. The event, which takes place on an island, prompted her to place over 500 lights throughout a small adjacent pond. Frank has titled this [captivating display of LED lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light) Lampyris Noctiluca, a subset of her preceding Fireflies exhibit that took place in 2011 at the Glow fair in Eindhoven. This version of the [outdoor concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tim-burton-light-trail) is currently on display at Hortus Botanicus. The location is remarkably historic as it is one of the most ancient botanical gardens throughout the entire world. That this site is acting as host to Frank's work is a blatant reflection of her expertise. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive LED Installations:** Opportunities for businesses to create interactive and engaging installations using LED technology to provide unique experiences. - **Artificial Lightscapes:** Incorporating artificial LED lighting into outdoor environments to create unique and captivating landscapes perfect for events and attractions. - **Sustainable LED Art:** The utilization of LED technology to create sustainable art installations that reduce energy consumption and environmental impact while still providing stunning and unique exhibits. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Event Industry:** Incorporating creative LED lighting installations into events to enhance the experience for attendees and increase engagement. - **Tourism Industry:** Using artificial lightscapes to create unique and captivating attractions and experiences to increase tourism revenue in a variety of contexts such as festivals, gardens, and parks. - **Art Industry:** The usage of LED technology to create sustainable and captivating art installations, opening new avenues for creativity and artistic expression. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Orb Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mangrove-island.md) - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Light Garden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imaginarium360.md) - [Neon Illuminated Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluorescence.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Biophilic Garden Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-organism-lights.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Colorfully Inflatable Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blowup-art-the-hague.md)
