Recently there was an international competition to design the new town hall in Tallinn, Estonia. The Danish architects [Bjarke Ingels Group](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst), together with Adams Kara Taylor of the UK, came out winners for the best architectural concept.

The winning design features a cluster of [administrative buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stroud-green-housing-centre) with large panoramic windows that are arranged around a public square, allowing citizens to see into the building while ensuring lots of natural light into the structure itself. The same concept is applied to the [tower with a steeply sloping roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leaves), the underside of which is mirrored creating a “huge democratic periscope”.
