He took advantage of this birds-eye-view when he set out to [find a bride-to-be](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invitin). Xishun was officially ranked [world's tallest human](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worlds-heaviest-billboard) by Guinness Book of World Records last year. His bride, Xia Shujian is of average height, yet at 5'6”, is still only half his size. Shujian, 28, and Xishun are both from the Chinese city of Chifeng. The couple found each other after he launched a series of international classified ads in search of a partner. A Beijing newspaper says, “After a long and careful selection, the effort has been finally paid off.” This isn't the first time Xishun has made headlines, however. He gained fame last December when the Chinese media reported his success at [rescuing two dolphins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-bulls-building-drop) that had ingested plastic in a Liaoning province aquarium. Vets failed miserably when they attempted to save the porpoises who had become sick after nibbling on the edges of their tanks. Trying to surgically extract the synthetic substances posed quite a problem; each time the instruments were inserted, their stomachs would contract. Xishun was there to save the day though. Using his extraordinarily elongated arms, he was able to pull the plastic out from inside the bellies of the aquatic mammals and was hailed a hero by the Chinese media. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Unconventional Relationships:** The trend of unconventional relationships, like a couple with extreme height differences, challenges traditional notions and opens up new possibilities for romantic partnership. - **International Classified Ads:** The use of international classified ads to find a partner demonstrates the increasing globalization of dating and the potential for cross-cultural relationships. - **Heroic Innovations:** The use of unconventional methods, such as using elongated arms to save animals, showcases the potential for disruptive innovations in solving complex problems. ### Who This Affects Most - **Wedding Industry:** The wedding industry can cater to the growing demand for unique and unconventional wedding experiences, such as those involving couples with extreme height differences. - **Online Dating Industry:** The online dating industry can tap into the trend of international classified ads and offer platforms for people seeking cross-cultural and international relationships. - **Animal Rescue Industry:** The animal rescue industry can explore unconventional methods, like utilizing unique physical attributes, to solve complex medical issues in animals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [30-Foot Tall Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/megasize-roxie.md) - [Wedding Crasher Weddings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wedding-crasher-wedding.md) - [Record-Breaking Wine Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belaire-zeus.md) - [Giant Dumpling Challenges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-dumpling-challenge.md) - [Inclusive NFT Marriages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/closeup-city-hall.md) - [Unique Wedding Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-on-the-ledge.md) - [Superhuman Exoskeleton Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skeletonics.md) - [Hard Soda Nuptials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hard-dew-i-do.md) - [Dip-Themed Wedding Ceremonies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dip-themed-wedding.md)
