The [Takashi Murakami Versailles retrospective art exhibition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collab-with-takashi-murakami) places some of Murakami's most iconic works in the hallowed halls of the Chateau de Versailles. I can't decide whether this mixture of [classic decadence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balenciaga-by-demna) and present-day [pop art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kaws-warhol-ut) is beautiful or bizarre, but either way, it's genius.

The Takashi Murakami Versailles show will run between September 14 and December 12. The images above are courtesy of Flickr user [Ganymede2009](http://www.flickr.com/photos/ganymede2009/).

**Implications** - With so many designs emerging in the modern sphere, consumers are looking for ones that push the limits. Combining two different aesthetics together is appealing to customers who are feeling the monotony of just focusing on one. Experimenting with a combination of different styles could help a company increase its revenue.
