Takashi Hilferink's show at the Gordon Daniel Gallery in Toronto was a bit Jekyll and Hyde. In the first room Takashi Hilferink displayed very easy Canadiana works that were reminiscent of simple country living.

The back room contained Takashi Hilferink's somewhat [darker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/between-the-lightness-and-the-darkness), [trippy dream scapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble) of [surreal collages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery) and nonsensical sights.

Takashi Hilferink's show runs at the Gordon Daniel Gallery until July 20.

**Implications** - Youth consumer groups are increasingly drawn to an aesthetic of opposition. Designing products and experiences that move this group beyond the traditional to more chaotic experiences can prove to be an exciting opportunity for companies. Brands considering repositioning their identity should move in towards opposition and chaos to attract this niche.
