Created by the Helsinki and Max Plank Institute for Informatics, a prototype glove was created to help customers find their required products faster. Much like the hot and cold games some played when they were children, the glove's vibration becomes stronger as you get hotter, or closer, to the item you are looking for. Produced with [off-the-shelf items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/universal-wearable-controller) as well as Kinect sensors, the tactile shopping glove "provides a very intuitive experience" and makes it seem as if the subject is being pulled towards the desired objects. Aside from [grocery shopping](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cantaloupe-smart-aisle), this guiding glove could also be used for other daily situations like those in parking garages and libraries. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Tactile Shopping:** Tactile shopping gloves provide a more intuitive in-store experience using vibrations to help shoppers find desired products. - **Proximity Sensing:** The use of proximity sensing technology enables more efficient and targeted shopping experiences, potentially leading to increased sales. - **Innovative Navigation Tools:** Innovative navigation tools offer exciting possibilities for enhancing the shopping experience and driving customer engagement. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Retail:** Retail industry can use this technology to improve the in-store experience and increase sales. - **Consumer Electronics:** Consumer electronics can advance this technology by developing more customizable and affordable proximity sensors. - **Automotive:** Automotive industry can benefit from incorporating proximity sensors in cars for enhanced parking experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intuitive Gesture-Control Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tactigon-skin-wearable-mouse.md) - [AI-Driven Robot Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-glove-1.md) - [Metaverse Haptic Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haptic-gloves.md) - [Hand Tremor-Assisting Intelligent Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-glove.md) - [Haptic Feedback VR Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haptx-g1.md) - [Haptic VR Controller Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/senseglove-nova-2.md) - [Robotic Visual Impairment Guides](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handheld-guidance-device.md) - [Massaging Hand Healthcare Gloves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knitdema-glove.md) - [Hand-Tracking Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmplug.md)
