# Handy Cycle Stands The Tactil Bicycle Rack Gives a Friendly Wave to Local Cyclists By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-01-11 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tactil-bicycle-rack References: [4p1b](http://www.4p1b.com/tactil.html) & [santacole](http://www.santacole.com/en/proyectos) Eco-friendliness should be repaid with equally amicable treatment, striking a delightful dialogue as the Tactil Bicycle Rack does with neighborhood cyclists. This design by [Barcelona's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audi-reader) Santa & Cole evades the conventional industrial and ugly look of many pushbike parks and rather embodies a [charming sculptural quality](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames) through the use of Cor-Ten steel. The 4P1B Design Studio project comprises a flat rectangular stake which stands nearly as tall as the average bicycle seat. Without remaining too stark and rigid, the [bike rack bollard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-furniture-concept) has been embellished by the excision of a sinuous and elongated arm, extending upwards into an open five-fingered hand. The outline of the limb is completely enclosed within the durable material, providing a secure place to loop a bike lock. The Tactil Bicycle Rack allows enough space for a pedal to be pushed into the base to hold a two-wheeler steady. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eco-friendly Bicycle Racks:** Opportunity for creating aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly bike racks. - **Sculptural Bike Rack Designs:** Opportunity for designing bike racks that have a unique and artistic appearance. - **Secure Bike Storage Solutions:** Opportunity for developing bike racks with secure locking mechanisms to deter theft and vandalism. ### Who This Affects Most - **Urban Design:** Opportunity for urban planners and designers to incorporate visually appealing and functional bike racks into city infrastructure. - **Outdoor Furniture:** Opportunity for outdoor furniture companies to integrate bike racks into their product offerings. - **Security Systems:** Opportunity for security companies to develop innovative bike rack locks and anti-theft solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tri-Functional Bicycle Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trifunctional-bicycle-rack.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Tubular Metallic Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargomate-bike-rack.md) - [Modular Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonder-x-skarper.md) - [Foldable Flatpack Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ahha-toaster-bike-rack.md) - [Horizontal Automotive Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ktop-bike-rack.md) - [Smart Bike Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bike-docking-station.md) - [Ultra-Compact Bike Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hangar-connect.md) - [Multipurpose Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/almada-work.md)
