Just as you'd plug in the cord to give your laptop a battery boost, this lamp works in the exact same way, with a place to plug in an Apple adapter at the top of the lighting fixture. The unusual light does not come with a magsafe adapter, which makes it a lamp that's most useful to Apple users. Castor Design's lamp began as a prototype in January 2013 and has since been named a winner in the Lighting Projects Design Category for the Silver A’ Design Award for its [creative use of materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emit). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Laptop Adapter-powered Lamps:** Designing lamps that can be powered by laptop adapters creates convenience and flexibility for users. - **Apple Adapter Integration:** Incorporating Apple magsafe adapters into different products opens up opportunities for innovative and multifunctional designs. - **Creative Use of Materials:** Exploring unconventional materials in lamp designs can lead to unique and visually appealing lighting options. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can embrace laptop adapter-powered lamps as a modern and functional lighting solution. - **Technology Accessories:** Incorporating laptop adapter functionality into various tech accessories can offer enhanced convenience and versatility for users. - **Lighting Design:** Exploring creative materials and integrating innovative power sources like Apple adapters can revolutionize the lighting design industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Magnetic Charging Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-charger.md) - [Powered Pendant Illuminations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant.md) - [Minimalist High-Tech Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/momax.md) - [Study Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/check-mate-2.md) - [Portable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parcel-portable-lamp.md) - [Illuminated Charger Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/current-concept.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Portable Cordless Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bonjour-unplugged.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md)
