Rachel Mills, creator of Gummies and Glowsticks, made this 8-bit Super Mario side table as a way to pay tribute to old school [Nintendo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-home-adventure-life) games. This Nintendo-inspired table measures 24 inches tall and 16 inches wide. The top of the table showcases the classic pre-3DS 8-bit Super Mario graphic, with the classic green pipes as the stem and that iconic yellow star you'd chase down the drain as the base. The side table is made from furniture grade wood and PVC pipes. The incorporation of vintage video games into furniture pieces is a great way to display your admiration for [retro gaming characters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-gaming-box) within your home decor. What better way to showcase your hardcore gamer attitude than by having a Super Mario side table at your house? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Vintage Video Game Furniture:** Creating furniture pieces that incorporate vintage video game graphics is a great way to pay tribute to classic gaming and add a unique touch to home decor. - **Retro Gaming Decor:** As nostalgia for classic video games continues to grow, there is an opportunity to create home decor focused on retro gaming themes, designs, and characters. - **Functional Digital Art:** Incorporating video game graphics into functional furniture pieces blurs the line between art and practicality, creating a new market for unique and customizable home decor items. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Designers and manufacturers can capitalize on the retro gaming trend by incorporating vintage video game graphics into furniture pieces, offering customers unique and customizable options for their homes. - **Home Decor:** As more people look for ways to add personality and uniqueness to their homes, a focus on retro gaming decor could create a new market for specialized home decor items. - **Video Game Merchandise:** Video game companies and merchandise manufacturers could explore opportunities to expand their product lines beyond traditional gaming accessories and offer customers video game-inspired furniture and decor options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Playing Cards-Inspired Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hito-table.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Homewares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-home-adventure-life.md) - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md) - [Board Game Furniture Innovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bandpass-design.md) - [Board Game Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scrabble-coffee-table.md) - [Puzzle Video Game Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sara-hyat-tetris-sofa.md) - [Gaming Star Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invincibility-star.md) - [Video Game Character Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toadstool-cafe.md)
