# Cardboard Box Accessories Wannabe Turns Boxes into Chic Tables By Ayman | Published 2008-04-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-wannabe References: [weidekamp.de](http://www.weidekamp.de/llotllov/index.htm) Moving into a new place always takes much longer than you originally planned for. So why not make the best out of these numerous [moving boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks) by transforming them into an [instant functional table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table) with the **Wannabe**. Wannabe is basically a [piece of metal that folds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table) around a cardboard box, converting it into a pretty good-looking and solid table. I actually like the design and wouldn't mind having a permanent table like that. It gives me a place to hide all my junk without cluttering my place. Wannabe is designed by the German [llot llove](http://www.weidekamp.de/llotllov/index.htm)creative team. It was recently showcased at the Zona Tortona in **Milan Design Week** 2008. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Sustainable Furniture:** The rise of cardboard box accessories like Wannabe presents an opportunity for the sustainable furniture industry to create stylish and eco-friendly options for consumers. - **DIY Home Decor:** Wannabe and similar products tap into the DIY home decor trend, providing consumers with customizable and affordable furniture solutions. - **Upcycling:** The popularity of Wannabe demonstrates the growing trend of upcycling, where individuals repurpose materials to create new and innovative products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The cardboard box accessories trend opens up opportunities for the furniture manufacturing industry to explore innovative ways of incorporating sustainable materials into their designs. - **Eco-friendly Packaging:** Companies in the packaging industry can leverage the demand for eco-friendly alternatives by developing biodegradable and recyclable packaging solutions, aligning with the concept of cardboard box accessories. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can embrace the cardboard box accessory trend by incorporating unique and customizable pieces into their clients' homes, offering a sustainable and on-trend option for home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cardboard Box-Transformed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/box-exhibition.md) - [Transformative Pizza Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-moving-box-table.md) - [Upcycled Waste Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-furniture-design.md) - [Collapsible Flatpack Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edo-side-table.md) - [Pop-Up Pizza Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-box-table.md) - [Take-Out Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablebag.md) - [Multifunctional Cardboard QSR Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tablebag.md) - [Storage Box-Transformed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md)
