# Double-Duty Home Workstations The Table for Two by Daniel Liss Expands to Accommodate Six By Meghan Young | Published 2013-06-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-for-two-by-daniel-liss References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/06/07/table-for-two-or-six/) & [danielliss-design](http://www.danielliss-design.com/) The Table for Two by Daniel Liss, a designer based in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, is a flexible piece of furniture that accommodates a couple of practical purposes. Made for a pair of people (whether couples or roommates) that work from home, its natural state is a workstation with a middle divider that separates the desk areas between each one. This creates a sense of privacy that can be cherished in small, intimate settings. Nevertheless, this privacy is completely demolished when entertaining. The Table for Two by Daniel Liss expands to become a dining table fit for six. Essentially, it is a typical expanding table except that instead of removing the planks of wood that make it longer, the Table for Two puts it to clever use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flexible Home Workstations:** Designing home workstations that can easily transform into other functional furniture items, such as dining tables, can create space-saving, multi-purpose solutions for small homes. - **Privacy-enhancing Office Equipment:** Creating home workstations with dividers that provide a sense of privacy can cater to the growing number of people working remotely, especially in smaller living spaces. - **Stylish Space-saving Furniture:** Designing furniture that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing can appeal to urban consumers looking for creative ways to optimize their home spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Office Furniture:** Developing innovative and flexible furniture for small home offices that can cater to the needs of remote workers in both work and social settings. - **Interior Design:** Offering creative design solutions for consumers looking to optimize their living spaces by using furniture that transforms into other functional items. - **Multifunctional Furniture Manufacturing:** Producing space-saving furniture that serves multiple functions such as home office workstations that can double as dining tables for small apartments and homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifuntional Modular Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table.md) - [Industrial Shapeshifting Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jointable.md) - [Adaptive Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture.md) - [Multipurpose Adaptable Office Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pluralis.md) - [Fold-Out WFH Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/writing-bureau.md) - [Mobile Desk Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/willow-side-table.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Folding Multifunctional Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ignite-desk.md) - [Expanding Three-in-One Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expandy.md)
