# Flatpack 3D Lamps The Aura LED Table Desk Lamp Creates the Illusion of a Traditional Lamp By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-02-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-desk-lamp References: [thegadgetflow](http://thegadgetflow.com/portfolio/aura-silhouette-led-table-lamp/) & [qrator](https://qrator.com/product/aura-led-table-lamp) The [Aura](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-ambient-grow-light) LED Table Desk Lamp is a designer illuminator that works to provide passive illumination in a design that is quite two-dimensional but that creates a 3D aesthetic from afar. Made from premium materials including wood and metal, the lamp creates the illusion of a traditional desk lamp that would be found on a workstation. The design of the Aura, however, is something of a post-modern take on the average lamp that utilizes only flat materials rather than a rounded lamp head and sculpted stand. The Aura LED Table Desk Lamp offers crisp, bright illumination thanks to the LED lighting system within that will provide a balanced design when placed in an office, a bedroom or anywhere one would desire a desk lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Flatpack 3D Lamps:** Flatpack lamps that create a 3D aesthetic are disrupting the traditional lamp industry by using only flat materials and innovative designs. - **LED Illumination Systems:** The use of LED lighting within desk lamps is a disruptive innovation that is creating energy-efficient lighting solutions. - **Post-modern Desk Lamps:** Post-modern desk lamps are introducing new designs and materials to the furniture and lighting industries. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The furniture industry has the opportunity to embrace new materials and sleeker, more modern designs. - **Lighting:** The lighting industry has the opportunity to innovate by developing new lighting systems and designs that prioritize energy efficiency and aesthetics. - **Office Supplies:** The office supplies industry can capitalize on the growing trend of post-modern desk lamps that offer a stylish and functional design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Demure Designer Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-desk-lamp.md) - [Minimalist Tech Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md) - [Sculpted Wooden Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-wood-desk-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Flexible Workstation Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archflex-desk-lamp.md) - [Multifunctional Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boring-lamp.md)
