# Tranquil Public Plazas The 't Park is a Nature-Loving Workspace By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-08-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t-park References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/08/26/t-park-by-cube-architecten/) & [cube-architecten.nl](http://www.cube-architecten.nl/) CUBE Architecten designed 't Park, a [plaza located in Amsterdam](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquapraa), The Netherlands. The [multi-functional space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spark-of-hudson) was formerly an old storeroom, before the City of Amsterdam authorized its redevelopment. The plaza is the first step in a housing concept for the city's offices. The renovated space can now be used for meeting, collaborating or even socializing (there is a bar fully stocked with organic coffee and sandwiches). Next to the reception area, the architects added space for play. Meant to emulate the environment of a park, the space is accessorized with [suspended plant cages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-jardins) that are hung between real birch trunks. The earthy color palette of green, white and brown encourages a sense of calm and tranquility that is associated with nature. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multi-functional Spaces:** There is a growing trend towards designing spaces that can serve multiple purposes, such as meeting, collaborating, and socializing. - **Nature-inspired Design:** Designs that incorporate elements of nature, such as plants and earthy color palettes, are becoming popular to create a sense of calm and tranquility. - **Workspace Redevelopment:** The redevelopment of old spaces into innovative workspaces is an emerging trend, offering opportunities for creative design solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture and Design:** The architecture and design industry can capitalize on the trend of creating multi-functional spaces that incorporate nature-inspired elements. - **Hospitality and Leisure:** The hospitality and leisure industry can benefit from incorporating nature-inspired design elements in their spaces to create a calming and tranquil atmosphere. - **Urban Planning and Development:** Urban planning and development professionals have the opportunity to redevelop old spaces into innovative workspaces that cater to the needs of the community. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Graveyard-Transformed Public Parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/park-of-memories.md) - [Repurposed Imperfection-Embraced Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/civic-architects-and-vdndp.md) - [Thatched Hut-Defined Bright Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polspotten.md) - [Amsterdam-Honoring Dynamic Workspaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/un-studio.md) - [Elevated Park Nature Lookouts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amager-nature-park.md) - [Nature Integrated Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bochum-office.md) - [Tranquil Plant-Filled Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyer-co.md) - [Greenhouse Office Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-for-roundtable.md) - [Upcoming Architectural Floating Parks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centroparco.md)
