Syros House, on the eponymous Greek island, consists of five separated volumes that overlook the Aegean Sea. With simple rectangular designs and facades built from local stone, the Syros House buildings look like ancient forts established to monitor the waterline for incoming ships.

The home is situated in Delphini, a small rural town on Syros, but Syros House itself is far removed from any other buildings, giving its residents a [secluded area of repose](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pretpec). Home to a family of five with ties to the shipping industry, the house's [marine view](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diachok-architects) is a constant reminder of their fortune.

The volume's facade is made from local stones that reference Mitato, Kalivi and Themonia, basic stone shapes that have architectural significance throughout the Cyclidian islands, which Syros is a part of.
