# Skin-Puncturing Writing Utensils These Syringe Pens Are Writing Utensils for the Punctual Person By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-03-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/syringe-pens References: [shutupandtakemymoney](http://shutupandtakemymoney.com/syringe-pens/) & [amazon](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005JZ7FV8?tag=trenhunt0f-20) These syringe pens are not only a really cute way to write out a book report, but also a fun way to scare the pants off your friends. Seeing as how the syringe pens are incredibly convincing, you could jab yourself in the arm in front of friends and make them think that you're putting a real needle into your arm. Bonus points since the ink will get left behind for some extra realism. Or, you could just use these neat syringe pens from NurseSupply to do things like actually write something, but that's not as much fun. Each pen is five inches long and comes in a set of a dozen with various colors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Novelty Stationery:** Innovative stationery items like syringe pens could create a new market for fun and unique school and office supplies. - **Realistic Imitation:** Creating realistic imitations of medical equipment like syringe pens could have disruptive applications in fields like simulation and training, and even entertainment. - **Harmless Pranks:** Syringe pens could inspire a trend of harmless pranks and jokes, creating a new market for items that blend realism and humor. ### Who This Affects Most - **Education and Stationery:** Syringe pens and other innovative stationery items could disrupt the education and stationery markets by introducing fun and unique options for students and professionals. - **Medical Training and Simulation:** Realistic imitation equipment like syringe pens could disrupt the medical training and simulation industry by providing a safer and more affordable alternative for learners. - **Entertainment and Pranks:** Syringe pens could disrupt the entertainment and prank industry with their realistic aesthetics and potential for harmless jokes and pranks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pattern-Drawing Dual-Tip Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colored-curve-pens.md) - [Unique Writing Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphite-paintbrush-writing-instrument.md) - [Sculptural Writing Piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sterling-silver-penis-pen.md) - [Floating Futuristic Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitating-pen.md) - [Long-Lasting Compact Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanoink.md) - [Engine-Inspired Desk Pen Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piston-pens.md) - [Seamless Silicone Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-pen.md) - [Woven Bamboo Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-weave-pens.md) - [Sculptural Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-pencils.md)
