The [eco-sanctuary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rewild-homes) located in East Village, NY was purchased by Dominique Camacho and Gary Hirschkron. The couple has furnished the home with [environmentally-friendly furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tign-tiny-homes), accessories, etc. The design of the home is very open and spacious with plenty of windows so there is a natural ventilation and lighting process that occurs reducing the use of power. A lovely eco-home stuck in the jungle that is New York is a gentle reminder that we can change the world one step at a time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Homes:** The trend of converting traditional buildings into sustainable living spaces can be an opportunity for the architecture and construction industries to innovate eco-friendly designs. - **Green Interior Designs:** The demand for environmentally friendly home decor and furnishings creates an opportunity for the interior design and home decor industries to innovate eco-conscious products and designs. - **Natural Ventilation and Lighting:** The trend towards the use of natural ventilation and lighting in building design can create an opportunity for innovation in the lighting and HVAC industries to integrate these sustainable technologies into their products and services. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** The trend towards eco-sustainable homes opens opportunities for the architecture and construction industries to innovate its practices and to provide sustainable solutions. - **Interior Design:** The trend towards eco-sustainable homes creates an opportunity for the interior design industry to innovate its solutions for environmentally friendly furnishings and home decors. - **Lighting and HVAC:** The trend towards natural lighting and ventilation technologies creates opportunities for innovation in these sustainable technologies and solutions within the lighting and HVAC industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rejuvenated Former Bank Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/former-bank-building.md) - [Forest Sanctuary Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sadowski-house.md) - [Nature-Connecting Warm Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baranowitz-kronenberg.md) - [Reconfigured Spacious Brooklyn Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/z-house.md) - [Bright Family Renovation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cobble-hill-townhouse.md) - [Adaptive Family Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no-ordinary-house.md) - [Modernist Modern Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/general-assembly-1.md) - [Modern Family Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/westchester-family-home.md) - [Slender Alley Dwelling Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brown-house-1.md)
