# Distorted Landscape Paintings Sylvester Engbrox Captures Peaceful Still Moments Wonderfully By Matt Ho | Published 2011-01-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvester-engbrox References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/art/archives/021243.php) & [vivoequidem.net](http://www.vivoequidem.net/) 'Below the Trees' by Sylvester Engbrox is one of those pieces that captures still moments in life with a serene quality. The use of color and the way the images look a bit distorted really accentuate the paintings. I love how the pictures depict life in a realistic way, whether it's a drive down the road or a walk in the rain. What makes these Sylvester Engbrox paintings more attractive is how the images depict their subjects venturing into the unknown as if there's a story to be told. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Distorted Landscape Paintings:** Embracing distorted images and colors in landscape paintings can create a unique and captivating aesthetic. - **Capturing Still Moments:** Artists can focus on capturing peaceful and serene moments in life through their artwork, evoking a sense of tranquility and introspection. - **Storytelling Through Visuals:** Incorporating narrative elements into paintings can create intrigue and engage viewers by inviting them to interpret the story behind the artwork. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can explore new techniques and styles to create innovative and visually striking artworks. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can incorporate distorted landscape paintings to offer unique and visually captivating wall art options for customers. - **Art Education:** Art educators can incorporate the concept of capturing still moments and storytelling through visuals into their curriculum to inspire creativity and introspection among students. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md) - [Hand-Painted Wallpaper Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvan.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Suburban-Inspired Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suburbaninspired-art-exhibition.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Pixelated Photographed Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/southern-trees.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md)
