Warmoeskerken spent countless hours taking apart the [retro camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-now1) before replacing the exterior accents with rich wenge wood. The photographer-turned-woodworker captured the intricate process in a time-lapsed video that depicts the stripping, cleaning and production process of the extravagant camera. The working camera is being put up for sale by Warmoeskerken who is charging about $525. Should the camera become an instant hit amongst savvy photographers, it’s not doubt that Warmoeskerken will likely re-create the exquisitely crafted design utilizing the same or other natural materials that help blend man-made goods with more organic features. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Organic Material Cameras:** Crafting cameras out of natural materials like wood instead of plastic or metal can appeal to environmentally conscious consumers and showcase a unique, handmade aesthetic. - **Luxury Handmade Gadgets:** High-end gadgets made by artisanal craftsmen can create a niche, luxury market for those willing to pay a premium. - **DIY Retro Camera Kits:** Providing consumers with kits to build their own wooden retro cameras could tap into the trend of DIY projects and nostalgia for analog technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Photography enthusiasts may embrace the unique aesthetic and eco-friendly appeal of wooden cameras. - **Handmade Goods:** The craft and artisanal movement can find a new niche by creating luxury gadgets made with high-end materials and care. - **DIY Technology:** DIY technology and gadget-making could embrace this trend by creating retro camera kits or other handmade tech projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Camera Renditions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sony.md) - [Leather-Accented Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-sx70-foldable-camera.md) - [Nostalgic Computer Graphic Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrospekt-and-polaroid.md) - [Modernized Folding Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextstep-sx100.md) - [Vintage Building Block Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-polaroid-onestep-sx70-camera-set.md) - [Retro-Tinged Polaroid Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/square-sq40.md) - [High-End Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-i2.md) - [Functional Gingerbread Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingerbread-camera.md) - [Memory-Making Retro Camera Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duo-modular.md)
