# DIY Sword Toys The 'Nature Sabre' Sword Handle Turns Sticks into Tools for Combat By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2015-08-08 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sword-handle References: [animicausa](http://www.animicausa.com/shop/Nature-Sabre-sword-creator/tpflypage.tpl.html) Although a sturdy stick serves well as a makeshift weapon during a swordfight, the 'Nature Sabre' sword handle makes it even more practical for combat. The sword creator is molded in blue, red or gray silicon, so that a stick can be slotted through to create a suitable play sword. Since the material that makes up the handle is so flexible, there is tons of opportunity to experiment with different lengths, widths and sizes when creating a sword from a stick. Rather than buying a plastic play sword from scratch that a kid will inevitably outgrow or lose interest in, involving a child in part of the creation process makes this inventive medieval toy even more exciting to play with. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Toys:** An opportunity for creating engaging toys through DIY projects. - **Flexible Molded Handles:** Using molded flexible handles has potential for creating new types of toys and tools. - **Nature-inspired Play:** Creating toys that are inspired by nature has the potential to foster creativity and imagination. ### Who This Affects Most - **Toy Industry:** Toy manufacturers can explore new ways to incorporate DIY elements into their products. - **Sports Industry:** Molded flexible handles have potential for creating new sports equipment that is both customizable and durable. - **Home Improvement Industry:** DIY projects in the home may benefit from the use of flexible molded handles for creating unique and customizable tools. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Miniature EDC Sword Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/micro-katana.md) - [LED-Powered Laser Swords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-series-obiwan-kenobi-force-fx-elite-lightsaber.md) - [Kid-Friendly Power Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supcutter.md) - [Hex Wrench Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workingmans-sword.md) - [Pink-Inspired Saber Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pink-soldier-saber.md) - [Motion-Activated Sci-Fi Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-2.md) - [Natural Scavenger Hunt Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scavenger-hunt-toy.md) - [Playful Oral Care Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buildabrush-starter.md) - [Hybridized Camping Hatchets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-hatchet.md)
