# Playground Dining Furniture The Swing Table by Duffy London Brings Fun to Food Time By Meghan Young | Published 2010-09-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-table References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2010/09/a-four-poster-table-brings-fun-back-into-dining.html) & [duffylondon](http://www.duffylondon.com/product_d/New-Products-C69/Swing-Table-P244.html) I wonder if the fun and excitement elicited by the Swing Table would counteract the enjoyment of the meal. I mean, I would be so fixated on my swinging seat that I may even forget to eat the food in front of me. Designed by [Duffy London](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-shadow-chair), the Swing Table definitely brings fun to dining. Made from walnut veneer and powder-coated mild steel, it also features a GEO lampshade at its center. Priced at $4,600, the Swing Table might well be worth it considering not only its functionality, but also its playfulness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Playful Furniture:** Businesses can explore playful and interactive furniture designs to add an extra element of enjoyment to consumers' experiences. - **Innovative Dining:** There is an opportunity for businesses to disrupt the traditional dining experience by creating more unique and immersive environments. - **Combining Function and Fun:** The trend towards multipurpose and playful furniture continues to grow, offering opportunities for innovation in both design and function. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Furniture companies can look to incorporate playfulness and interactive elements into their designs to meet the growing demand for uniqueness and fun in consumers' homes. - **Hospitality:** Restaurants and other hospitality businesses can differentiate themselves by offering patrons more innovative and playful dining experiences. - **Events:** Event planners and rental companies can offer clients unique and playful furniture options for weddings, corporate events and other special events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Maximalist UFO Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-saucer-coffee-table.md) - [Minimalist Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-swing.md) - [Dual-Function Play Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birddy.md) - [Rocking Table-Mounted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table.md) - [Curvaceous Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niu-swing.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Shimmering Cantilevered Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-shadow-chair.md) - [Artwork-Inspired Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/d12-dining-table.md) - [Posh Pastel-Hued Game Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casablanca-ping-pong-table.md)
